Latest Update On Las Vegas Shooting: 50 Dead, Over 400 Injured, Shooter Identified As 64-Yr-Old Stephen Paddock

The SICK EVIL murderer, Stephen Charles Paddock
The latest update on the Las Vegas shooting incident confirmed the shooter was a local, a 64-year-old white male, police confirmed.

The Las Vegas police identified the shooter as Stephen Charles Paddock, a 64-year-old Nevada resident. His female roommate at Mandalay Bay, Marilou Danley, the woman police was searching for, has been located.

More than 50 people died and over 400 people were injured after a shooter opened fire at the crowds assembled to enjoy a concert organised at the Mandalay Bay casino as part of the Las Vegas Music Festival. The police neutralised the shooter soon after the attack.
The 64year-old white man found dead by officers in his hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay, where “numerous firearms” were discovered.

“As far as his history and his background, we haven’t completed that part of the investigation yet,” Mr Lombardo said.

At 64 years old, Paddock is the oldest mass shooter in US history.

Officers are currently at his home in Mesquite, Nevada, awaiting a search warrant.

A spokesman for the city's police department said: “We don’t have a lot on Mr Paddock. He does live here in our city. We have not had any law enforcement contact with him in the past."
Earlier, Mr Lombardo had said that they believed the gunman was a “lone wolf”.

”We have no idea what his belief system was,” he said.

“Right now, we believe he was the sole aggressor and the scene is static.

“The dead man lived locally and his motives are not known.

''There were no explosives involved in the attack but police used a controlled explosion to get to the suspect.”

Police were earlier trying to locate Marilou Danley, a 62-year-old woman who reportedly travelled with Paddock before the attack.
Detectives have since made contact with her and “do not believe she is involved with the shooting on the strip”, CNN reported the Police Department as saying.

They have also found two vehicles that were being searched for in connection with the shooting.

The updated death toll makes the attack the deadliest mass shooting in US history.

Thousands of people fled the scene, including Instagram star, Dan Bilzerian.

Country singer Jason Aldean was on stage when the gunfire broke. He later confirmed that he and his crew were safe, adding: "Tonight has been beyond horrific.”
US President Donald Trump has been briefed on the shooting, and has tweeted a message of support to those affected.

He wrote: “My warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families of the terrible Las Vegas shooting. God bless you!”

Theresa May took a break from the Conservative Party conference in Manchester to condemn the attack.

She said: ”The UK's thoughts are with the victims and the emergency services responding to the appalling attack in Las Vegas.”

He had in excess of 10 rifles in his room.

Witnesses said they saw multiple victims and dozens of ambulances near the concert venue. Some attendees later huddled in the basement of the nearby Tropicana hotel-casino.

Flights were temporarily halted at McCarran International Airport because of the shooting, the airport said on its verified Twitter account.

The LVMPD statement says:

''The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department identified the lone suspect involved in the late night mass shooting on the Las Vegas Strip as 64-year-old, Stephen Craig Paddock, a white male from Mesquite, Nevada.

Paddock opened fire on a crowd of more than 22,000 concert-goers from his hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel on Sunday evening at approximately 10:08 p.m.

The victims were across the street attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival concert when bullets rang out. LVMPD SWAT responded to the call, breached the hotel room and found the suspect dead.

The Clark County Fire Department estimated that approximately 406 people were transported to area hospitals and 50 are dead following Sunday evening’s shooting. Among the dead is an LVMPD officer who was off-duty at the time. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. There were also two on-duty officers injured, one of whom was upgraded recently from critical to stable condition. The other sustained non-life threatening wounds. This is still an active investigation.''
