The six kidnapped students of the Lagos Model School, Igbonla, Epe, have been released after spending 64 days in captivity. They were rescued from Aboto creek, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo state, today, at about 3.30pm. Their release as gathered, was effected by the Lagos and Ondo states government and the Nigeria Police.
The students, Pelumi Philips, Farouq Yusuf, Isiaq Rahmon, Adebayo George, Judah Agbausi and Peter Jonah, were abducted from their school and after the kidnappers established contact with their parents, a ransom of N400m was demanded, but this was later reduced to N100m owing to the inability of the parents to meet up with the demand, SR reports.
It was gathered that due to the personal intervention of Governor Akeredolu, the six students who were kidnapped some two months ago, were rescued alive and are now in Ondo state territory. Whewwww.. Finally!! I'm so happy.. Thank God they are alive, thank God.
