Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg, who had dropped out of college in order to launch his project, returned to Harvard University 12 years after, in order to collect an honorary degree.

Apart from being awarded a Doctor in Laws honour, Zuckerberg was also invited to address this year’s graduating class at commencement.

An emotional Zuckerberg eyes teared up as he spoke about an undocumented student he is currently mentoring during his speech.

Zuckerberg also proposed solutions to complex issues such as; universal basic income and health care for everyone, among other subjects.
The 33-year-old is the youngest person in Harvard's history to become commencement speaker.

During the speech he said: ''Change starts local. Even global changes start small - with people like us,'' adding that ''every generation expands the circle of people we consider 'one of us.' And in our generation, that now includes the whole world.''

Zuckerberg reminded everyone present there are still many challenges with globalization, including the fact that many people were left behind.

On a lighter note, he also reminisced about his college years, Facebook origin as the website Facemash which allowed students to compare how attractive his fellow classmates were.
He also talked about how he met his now wife at a farewell party just as he was leaving Harvard. Zuckerberg explained how he asked his wife, Priscilla Chan, out on a date.

"I'm going to get kicked out in three days, so we need to go on a date quickly."

He also spoke about the movie social network

The Facebook founder did not waste the opportunity to talk about the iconic film on him where he does not stand very well.

He said: ''Movie made it seem like Facemash was so important to creating Facebook. It wasn't. But without Facemash I wouldn't have met Priscilla, and she's the most important person in my life.''

Zuckerberg’s parents were also present at the ceremony. They stood very proud beside his son, in an act they had expected to happen 12 years beforehand.
