Kemi Olonloyo, and Samuel Walson, a publisher of a local tabloid in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, were today brought to court in prison uniforms.
Chief Magistrate, Alatuwo Elkanah Fubara, granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 with credible sureties who reside in Port Harcourt.
Recall that Olunloyo and Walson are facing four count charges of publishing defamatory and malicious story against the General Overseer of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie.
The matter has been adjourned to May 4, 2017 for hearing.
But in a new report, just after the Magistrate Court had granted her bail and she was about to take her leave, a Federal High Court in Rivers State has denied her bail!!
According to Punch, for the second time in two weeks, the journalist and blogger, Kemi Olunloyo, has been refused bail and remanded in Port Harcourt prison custody.
This time, it was the Federal High Court in Rivers State that denied the daughter of the former governor of Oyo State and remanded her in prison after a Magistrate Court had granted her bail.
However, charges against the Port Harcourt-based publisher, Samuel Walson, were dropped.
Olunloyo and Walson were arrested over an alleged online defamatory publication against a frontline cleric, Pastor David Ibiyomie.
